As you may have noticed already, we recently hosted the first ever National Breakfast Awards! The finalists were really put through their paces and, after much deliberation, we eventually settled on three winners - and you can read all about it on page 24.
From my own perspective, I was lucky enough to be judging the Breakfast of the Year winner, along with a great panel including our friend Steve Slark from the Beverage Standards Association. We were treated to a great array of dishes - from traditional full Englishes to Mexican huevos rancheros, Indian eggs, and, on the sweet side, a New Zealand-style pancake stack. The judges told me that they were really impressed, not just with the quality of the dishes, but also with the imagination and creativity shown by the contestants.
