Mud Foods collects a heap of awards

Independent family business Mud Foods had good reason to celebrate recently after it scooped no less than eight Great Taste Awards and nine British Pie Awards across 2017.

The Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Foods, puts products through their paces in front of a panel of no less than 500 judges over 62 judging days. Mud Foods collected two stars for its Steak & Kidney pie, and one star each for seven other pies.

At the British Pie Awards, the company picked up Highly Commended Awards for its Steak & Kidney pie and Chip Shop Curry Chicken pie, a Gold Award for its Mushroom & Asparagus pie, and a further four Silver and two Bronze awards.

Mud Foods founder and chief pie-maker Christian Barrington said: “This year has been a tremendous year for us in terms of growth and the awards are a testament to the hard work that our team has put in to help produce our fabulous range of pies. They also demonstrate the reality of our vision: that producing pies of great quality, using only the very best ingredients, can be achieved.”
