Deliveroo marked its sixth birthday in the UK recently by announcing further expansion. The British company served its first order six years ago in London and now is available in over 500 towns and cities around the world.
It is currently rapidly onboarding new restaurants as demand for its service grows and is working with 20,000 takeaways and restaurants in the UK. The company is set to launch in an additional eight UK towns imminently and plans on adding more than 40 by the end of the year. It will also be launching a click and collect service.
Will Shu, Deliveroo’s CEO and first ever rider, said: “Six years ago I never thought we’d get the chance to work with the likes of Gregg’s or PizzaExpress. Now we’re in 14 countries across the globe, boast one of Britain’s biggest tech teams and are supporting some of the UK’s best takeaways and restaurants.”
