Sugoi JPN has announced that it will be expanding via two new franchise outlets. The Japanese/Mexican street food fusion was initially based out of a small dark kitchen under a railway arch in east London and a food truck. Known for its trademark NoriTacos (a crispy seaweed tempura shell shaped like a taco packed with sushi rice and Japanese-Latin toppings), the business is now working on a new franchise expansion initiative with plans to launch 10 sites in 12 months. The first new site will launch in South Wimbledon tomorrow (6th August).
The beginning of 2020 saw the multi award-winning food concept secure a partnership with a national department store on Oxford Street, planning to take over their rooftop terrace this summer. However, like many businesses in the hospitality industry, Sugoi JPN had to quickly adapt its strategy when the world went into lockdown. Securing partnerships with The Bench and The Hospitality Portal, it is now on a mission to rapidly grow the business with multiple sites across London.
The second new unit is set to open in Palmers Green on 27th August, while there are also plans to expand outside of the UK in the future.
