Deliveroo teams up with the Trussell Trust

Deliveroo and the Trussell Trust recently announced a new partnership to provide up to 2m meals and vital support for people facing hunger across the country. For the first time, Deliveroo is launching a UK-wide partnership that will enable customers to add a round-up donation to their in-app food orders, with all proceeds going to the Trussell Trust, a UK charity that supports a network of food banks.

The partnership comes as new research commissioned by Deliveroo found that 9% of parents – the equivalent of 1.3 million – were ‘very likely’ to need to use a food bank in the following three months. Deliveroo employees will also volunteer for the charity and support by sharing their time and expertise with food banks in the Trussell Trust network.

Will Shu, CEO and founder of Deliveroo, said: "Supporting people facing hardship has never been more important. We’re committed to using our platform to play a positive role in the communities in which we operate.”

Emma Revie, chief executive of the Trussell Trust, added: “This new partnership will help us support food banks to provide emergency food and in-food bank support to thousands of people in immediate crisis, while we work towards our long-term vision of a future where nobody needs to turn to charity to get by. We’re incredibly grateful to Deliveroo and their customers for their support.”
