Munro new general sec of EFCEM

Iain Munro CFSP has been appointed the new general secretary of the European Federation of Catering Equipment Manufacturers (EFCEM). The role will see him complete a career spanning 35 years in foodservice equipment supply, preceded by 10 years in hospitality.

Munro has previously held senior positions with some of the industry’s top brands, including Falcon, ScoMac and Rational. For the last five years he has been with Hobart, most recently as its UK business development director.

“He’s the complete foodservice equipment professional,” said Phil Williams, chair of EFCEM. “He’s 100% passionate about the industry and he’s the ideal candidate for the job. I know he’ll be a huge success.”

“I’m really excited about the EFCEM role,” Munro added. “Having been in hospitality and foodservice equipment for over 40 years, I feel I am ready to take on this new challenge.

“I’m delighted to remain within the industry I know and love – and I hope as general secretary I can make a positive and lasting contribution.”
