Kerb to relaunch Cucumber Alley
Street food pioneer Kerb will relaunch Cucumber Alley at Seven Dials Market.
Seven Dials Market's grab-and-go destination Cucumber Alley is set to be relaunched and will play host to seven different vendors. Street food pioneer Kerb will relaunch the area, which sits adjacent to the main market, with entrances at either end leading onto Shorts Gardens and Earlham Street.
The area will be home to sweet treats and grab-and-go snacks, and the vendors will include Soft Serve Society, Boolay Crepes, Deeknek, Wheelcake Island, Chinatown favourite Ong Ong's, Oshpaz and Naanstop Exress, the new express offering from Curry On Naanstop. The space will provide an opportunity for budding brands to test out new concepts, as with Oshpaz Dumplings and Boolay Crepes from Yolkin.
Cucumber Alley is an extension of Thomas Neal’s Banana Warehouse. Stand-out dishes include the Mumbai sandwich - Mumbai’s favourite street food snack filled with cheese, homemade chutneys and veggies - from ChatShaak, torched crème brulée crepe cone from Boolay, the Speculoos waffle with coffee ganache from Deeknek and Ong Ong’s curry chicken bun.
Simon Mitchell, managing director of Kerb and curator of Seven Dials Market, says: “Seven Dials Market has always been a very special place, and a hot pot of new and talented brands coming together – all under one roof. The launch of Cucumber Alley is an extension of this offer and is reflective of what we at Kerb are working to achieve, and that is to support new operators coming to the market and providing an opportunity to grow before expanding into other locations. This launch also comes as London is re-opening and provides the space for people to pop in and experience Seven Dials Market as a whole.”
The new vendors of Cucumber Alley will also be involved in the events that take place within Seven Dials Market - this Easter weekend will see the market made over as an 80s hip hop party with face painting and an Easter egg hunt for the little ones and an Easter themed bar takeover from Hennessey for the grown-ups.
Seven Dials Market’s Cucumber Alley opens to the public on 8 April and will be open every day between 12pm to 10pm from Monday to Friday, 11am to 10pm on Saturday and 11am to 9pm on Sunday.
